Patrick was heartbroken, feeling helpless as he watched his wife fight for her life. “Please, God, don’t take her from me,” he prayed, his voice shaking with emotion.

The medical team worked tirelessly to stabilize Brittany’s condition. Patrick paced anxiously in the waiting room, his mind racing with thoughts of his wife and their newborn baby.

After what seemed like an eternity, the medical team finally emerged with an update. “Mr. Mahomes, Brittany’s condition is stable, but she needs to rest,” the doctor explained. Patrick breathed a sigh of relief, his heart still heavy with worry.

The cold never bothered Brittany Mahomes anyway.

Before welcoming daughter Golden Raye Mahomes with husband Patrick Mahomes Jan. 12—her third baby with the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback—the Kansas City Current co-owner shared the Frozen-inspired name her eldest child, 3-year-old Sterling, was pushing for.

“My daughter wants me to name her Elsa,” Brittany—who also shares son Patrick “Bronze”, 2, with the NFL star—told Today.com in an interview published Jan. 16. “She was set on it for a while, but obviously we’re not doing that!”

Although the couple “went back and forth for a while” on baby Golden’s name—a continuation of their elemental naming scheme—the 29-year-old said she and Patrick, also 29, “really, really love” the one they chose in the end.

And years after they began dating, going on to tie the knot in 2022, the high school sweethearts are still good as gold.

“If I’m complaining or I’m in a bad mood, he gets it,” Brittany shared. “He’s not gonna argue with me. He’s not gonna push my buttons. He knows.”

The Super Bowl MVP also seems to know his limit when it comes to expanding his family, telling reporters at a Jan. 14 press conference, “I’m good with three for right now.”

“It’s cool to welcome another baby girl in our family and see how my other kids react to her,” he continued. “Having baby sissy and stuff like that—it’s been a lot of fun.”

But while another baby Mahomes isn’t currently in the cards, Patrick isn’t opposed to drafting a new play down the line.

“My goal was always three,” he went on. “So, we’ve had three. And we’ll stick there for a while and see if we need to come back and get another one later on.”
