Paris was only 11 years old when his father died.

On July 25, 2009, “The King of Pop” suffered a cardiac arrest at his home and died shortly after being taken to a nearby hospital. Paris and her siblings were placed under the legal guardianship of their grandmother, Katherine Jackson, according to Michael’s will.

During his father’s televised funeral, 11-year-old Paris stood in front of the television to say a few words about his father.

“Since I was born, Dad has been the best father you could ever imagine,” she said. “And I just wanted to tell you how much I love you.”

Paris and her brothers, Prince Michael, 12, and Prince Michael II, 7, were present during the televised memorial service. In fact, it was practically the first time the public was able to see more than a brief glimpse of Jackson’s children.

In January 2010, they were seen publicly accepting a posthumous lifetime achievement award for their father at the 2010 Grammy Awards.

“I knew he was a good father; he was the best cook in the world,” he told Wifrey. “He was a normal, upright father.”

“She made the best French toast in the world,” Paris added.

When Michael Jackson passed away, Paris Jackson moved into a farmhouse in Calabasas, California, with her grandmother Katherine Jackson and other family members, according to The Daily Mail.

When she turned 19, she decided to move into Michael Jackson’s private studio at the family compound, which she transformed into a dormitory-style bedroom.

Losing your father is difficult. But for Paris, it was much more than that. Once again, he was expected to continue his father’s legacy.

I didn’t grow up very quickly. When I started seventh grade, Paris decided to go to a private school. Back then, the only people who accepted her as she was were the older ones, and everything worked out perfectly.
